Okay, so maybe that’s not exactly what Manhattan is best known for—but it should be!
You’d be surprised by how many thrift stores are wedged between those high-end boutiques and cast iron buildings—but that’s true of all NYC thrift stores.
So, grab your reusable tote, brush up on some thrift shopping tips, put on some cobblestone-friendly walking shoes, and see the best thrift stores in SoHo (or a second hand stone’s throw away) for yourself.

The ReShop has a mission to “improve quality of Earth for Earth” by recycling, reusing, and… reworking?
This unique SoHo thrift store has their very own selection of reworked “1 of 1” pieces that you won’t find anywhere else, including stylized Carhartt Jackets and patched up denim jeans.
And a number of pre-loved vintage band tees, coats, caps and more.
Affordable 90’s streetwear, anybody?
Vintage Levi’s ring up for $40 a pop and band tees are around $17 (which is quite cheap compared to other curated shops).
Top your look off with one of their $35 caps and you’ll be the hippest street goer in Manhattan.

Funny Pretty Nice
When it comes to SoHo thrifting, we always look for Funny Pretty Nice things.
And so do many social media influencers and celebrities, apparently!
Created in the name of sustainability, the women-owned small shop shares love for everything vintage and circular fashion.
Each garment is hand selected and sourced ethically from around the globe, with many pieces coming directly from the hottest fashion capital itself, London.
In true Y2K fashion, baby tees, printed pants, fur coats, and short skirts are in no shortage at this best SoHO thrift shop.
Though, rare vintage and designer pieces can only be found in their online store.

2nd Street
Say ‘konichiwa!’ to slow fashion the second you stroll through the door of 2nd Street.
Among their shelves you’ll find an eclectic mix of on-trend, designer, and hip styles inspired by the fashion forward stylings of Japan, where this second hand chain was born.
Metallic puffer jackets and reworked patchwork vintage flannel shirts are just a couple examples of the hip things you’ll find here.
They have three different Manhattan storefronts, but locals widely agree that their SoHo thrift store is the best, in terms of store aesthetics and range.
If you feel sad about all the unique outfits that don’t end up in your cart, don’t. Even if they don’t get snatched up by other style-savvy New Yorkers, 2nd Street’s Hand2Hand’s project will ensure they’ll go to a good cause—like cleaning up oil spills.

The RealReal
Not only is The RealReal one of our favorite second hand stores to visit online, but they’re also one of the best thrift stores SoHo offers!
This luxury consignment retailer specializes in all things Gucci and glamorous.
Looking to channel your inner Carrie Fisher?
They’re the perfect place to feed your shoe addiction and score a pair of her iconic blue Manolo Blahnik heels for a price even on an actual writer’s salary.
All men’s and women’s clothing and accessories are professionally authenticated before being allowed on the shelves.
To prove they offer truly top notch designer styles, they’re even partnered with major Netflix series Emily in Paris to provide outfits for the characters—who work in the Paris fashion industry.

Best Thrift Shops In Manhattan Near SoHo
K.L.Thrift Store
Even further south of Houston Street, Nestled near the outskirts of Chinatown, K.L. Thrift Store provides an immersive thrift experience for all.
Though it’s not for the easily overwhelmed because the shelves are jam packed!
The lively Asian-owned store is buzzing with a colorful array of goodies, everything from headphones to lamps to ceramic statues to screwdrivers and more.
There are plenty of garment gems to be found too, like deadstock vintage jeans and designer bags.
If that wasn’t enough to lure you in, perhaps their cuddly cat will!

AuH2O
AuH2O is like water to the Manhattan thrift scene; it’s cheap and you can’t live without it.
The East Village shop sells an eclectic mix of women’s used clothing and vintage accessories, including funky favorites like celestial crop tops, crochet bucket hats, and jeweled animal brooches.
We’d expect nothing less from the women-owned “thriftique”.
With permanent $5 and $10 racks, and plenty of items under $30, AuH20 is one of our favorite cheap thrift stores in SoHo.

Hamlet’s Vintage
Hamlet’s Vintage: to be or not to be one of the best vintage stores near SoHo?
(Okay, so technically they’re a little north of SoHo, but if you’re in the neighborhood, it’s well worth the detour to So-Hop on by.)
With the largest collection of vintage pieces in Greenwich Village, we’d say to be. Though we’ll warn you that this is THE most expensive of the SoHO thrift stores NY has to offer.
Because a 90’s vintage Dolce & Gabbana wool coat won’t come cheap anywhere you go. A shining example of just one of the many true vintage designer pieces you can find on their racks.
Cue up Macklemore’s Thrift Shop for an idea of what exactly this store looks like (hint: there are a lot of fur coats, which is the only way we suggest scoring a fur jacket, since it won’t lead to any more animal lives being sacrificed).

Looks Vintage
Boasting over 1,000 Google reviews and a perfect 5-star rating, many deem Looks Vintage to be the best of the best NoHo thrift stores.
Wonderful prices, knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of items keep their reputation alive.
The most notorious section of the shop is their sneaker wall, where you’ll find pre-loved Nikes in all shapes and colors (along with some Balenciagas and other high end footwear.)
Some other noteworthy collections include their Coach bag and Gucci watch showcases.
Aside from these star features, you can browse through the classic offerings of vintage sweaters, band tees, and denim pants.
If you time your visit at the right time of the month, you may be able to take home some swanky $5 finds.

Thrift NYC
We know your day in SoHo is already packed, but try to make a quick trip north to make time for the cult classic Thrift NYC.
The beloved op shop chain is home to some seriously cool finds—as in ‘vintage leather Corsa racing jackets, leather pants, and cowboy boots’ type cool.
Everything is organized based on color and clothing item, making it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for and comparing it to similar options.
Most garments start around $20 to $30, though many fall closer to the $75 range—which, we’d gladly pay for a pair of Vintage Garfield overalls.

Crossroads Trading
Crossroads Trading is the crossroad for pre-loved garments, amazing accessories, and stylish shoes.
Similar to Plato’s Closet, the global thrift store chain buys on-trend clothing from customers for cash or store credit.
Since items are stocked based on trendiness, you’ll likely run into more casual pieces and brands, although they carry some designer brands on consignment.
And, affordable prices might we add.
Crossroads Trading is a particular SJ favorite because sustainability is high on its radar. The shop uses environmentally friendly cleaning products, disposes of clothing properly, and pursues sustainability certifications for their stores.

The trendy thrift shop sports vintage Americana vibes, with rows of quirky sports, military, and work clothing, mostly in men’s sizes.
Retro sunglasses, beanies, and vintage guitars are also to be found.
Though some accessories aren’t true vintage, but rather vintage inspired pieces designed by local artists (which is what they stock on Etsy).
