Leaving Las Vegas?
You may know it as “Sin City”, but to us, Las Vegas is “Secondhand City”.
Between flamboyant furniture and cosplay costumes, the thrift stores Las Vegas has to offer are no less out-there than the city itself.
And what better way to break from the budget-breaking prices of accommodation, entertainment, and food than with some bargain hunting?
So, if you’re looking to balance out your Bellagio bill (or feel better about those impromptu nuptials…) show these secondhand stores some love.
With all the money you’ll be saving, you’ll be able to splurge on a meal in the Stratosphere Tower while perusing our thrift shopping tips.

Oldies But Goodies
Ok so you had a bad run at the roulette table, but your luck is about to turn around at Oldies But Goodies.
Clothing, accessories, knickknacks, art, home goods, and more. Try not to score big with such an impressive selection.
This Las Vegas thrift store is also an official 501(c)3 that’s run by Hearts Alive Village animal rescue.
Not only does this mean no sales tax, but every purchase brings pets in from the streets and helps to connect them with safe homes.
As one of the most unique (and adorable) ways to thrift, the shop is equipped with two rooms for senior dogs and cats. You can spend time snuggling them or consider making an adoption.

Neon Cactus Vintage
If this name doesn’t scream Las Vegas thrifting, we don’t know what will.
Ethically sourced and body-positive, Neon Cactus Vintage is one of the best vintage thrift stores Las Vegas offers for clothing, and a necessary addition to your Vegas trip itinerary.
This is especially true for those of us who like to make a statement with bold, colorful, and inclusive clothing and accessories.
All pieces are top-shelf, 100% unique, and largely from the 1960s-1980s.

The Red Kat Vintage
Another thrift store near the Las Vegas Strip, The Red Kat is a bottomless source for men’s and women’s secondhand clothing, shoes, and accessories.
With more than 3,000 square feet of space filled with 6,000 pieces to keep you feeling lucky, it’s also one of the largest thrift stores.
Dust off a pair of vintage cowboy boots, or drape a floral pair of flared pants on from the 1960s and you’ll fit right in.
Or maybe you’re in need of a last-minute celebrity suit before you hit the wedding chapel down the street—they can help with that, too.

With a wide range of men’s and women’s clothes and shoes, you can find items at just about any budget ($100+ jeans for $17, anyone?).
While the selection is smaller, they do stock plus-sized pieces.
Selling options are available by appointment and everything is laundered before it hits the sales floor.

Off The Threads
Are you a big Ramones fan? Or just get a thrill sorting through endless racks of unique duds?
Either way, go straight to Off The Threads because it’s the best thrift store in Las Vegas for you. Just ask the celebrities, big-name brands, and major Las Vegas resorts they’ve worked with!
They’re packed wall-to-wall with hand-picked retro finds, like single-stitch vintage tees.
They offer women’s, men’s, and kid’s clothing from the 20s to the 90s, as well as alteration services for items in the shop or your own vintage treasures.
Be on the lookout for their popular FIll Up A Bag Fridays, where you pay $15 total for a bag and absolutely anything you can fit in it. And that’s just one of their many end-of-month sale events!

The Giving Store
As the name suggests, The Giving Store is a non-profit, 501(c)3 that funnels all proceeds to S.A.F.E. House, a shelter for domestic violence victims (children, in particular).
With prices undercutting other thrift stores (even Goodwill Las Vegas) they appeal to an even larger selection of secondhand shoppers—all while offering an upscale experience.
You can find high-quality (new or like-new) clothing for the whole family, toys, jewelry, electronics, household goods, books, games, tools, and furniture.
Check their website for daily 25% discounts and every week, colored tags are offered at a 50% or 75% discount.

Chic And Cozy
Decking out your new house?
Chic and Cozy—one of the best furniture thrift stores near Las Vegas NV—is a must-stop-shop.
Specializing in gently used furniture, their ever-changing inventory makes it easy to furnish your living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen or office spaces.
They’re closed on Monday, but open every other day. If you opt to sell through Chic and Cozy, you’ll get to keep 50% of the sales price.

Desert Industries
With locations across the western US, Deseret Industries is one of the few north Las Vegas thrift stores (as well as in Paradise).
They’re an ample source for all manner of secondhand clothing and home goods, but they have a lot going on behind the scenes too.
They provide training and on-the-job experience, both at the retail level and in manufacturing. Community partnerships and grants help those locally, while the Latter-day Saint Humanitarian Center helps people worldwide.
Prices are kept low to give everyone access to quality goods at affordable prices, and those that aren’t sold are shipped overseas to help with humanitarian relief efforts.
Last year alone, they donated almost two million pounds of clothes and shoes to those in need.

Why Support Thrift Stores In Las Vegas
In a city where excess and overconsumption are part of its fiber, it’s relatively surprising that Las Vegas has one of the best clothing recycling programs in the world.
Still, more than 85% of American textile waste ends up in incinerators or landfills, releasing toxic air pollutants or microplastics as it does.
Although Las Vegas is relatively proactive when it comes to recycling textiles, they still send an overwhelming volume overseas—which is arguably just as problematic as landfills.
So much so that many countries in East and West Africa have started to ban imports of secondhand clothing.
We can’t recycle our way out of the problem, so we need to keep clothes in use before they end up in the recycling machine or cargo ship headed to a foreign country.
And what better time to score a secondhand steal than after losing to those slot machines?!
As an eco-alternative to the overpriced clothing stores in Las Vegas, the city’s thrift stores (much like Reno’s thrift stores) provide a budget-friendly way for you to upgrade your wardrobe, save the planet, and a little cash for the performers on Fremont Street.
Going to Vegas next week and look forward to checking out some or all of these stores! Thank You!!
So happy to help, hope it was fruitful thrifting in Vegas!
